Current Partners
Istop works in partnership with Jobcentre Plus to provide local job information wherever its kiosks are sited across the UK.
This information provides a strong attraction to job-seekers, saving them time and money in visiting their nearest local Job Centre, which is sometimes 5, 10 or more miles away.
istop is also supported by a number of other partners and special interest groups.
The partnership came into operation in 2008 with a pilot scheme in the North East of England. Around 70 kiosks were sited within retail outlets in villages and outer suburbs across the area, making information about the latest jobs on offer readily accessible to the community. This has proved to be outstandingly successful, popular with local people and supported by Jobcentre Plus, and has helped many residents in the area to find work.
As a result, the scheme was extended to the Centre Bedfordshire Council in early summer 2009.
“istop kiosks seem to me to be an excellent collaborative project. They will bring the services and benefits of both central and local government as well as some well-known retailers directly to the heart of some of our more outlying areas, as well as to inner cities and nearby towns and villages which are presently poorly served.” Vince Robinson, Former North-East Director of the Department of Employment and Jobcentre Plus
